Anita is the Decarbonisation Lead at Climate Resource. She joined Climate Resource in 2025.
Anita leads Climate Resource’s Decarbonisation Futures work. This research leverages global climate model insights to evaluate how countries and sectors track on different warming pathways through to 2050, translating these findings into actionable policy insights and tracking progress with key metrics and leading indicators.
Anita has been developing and advocating for evidence-based approaches to climate and energy policy and regulation for 17 years, working across industry, government, and academia. Before joining Climate Resource, she was General Manager for Workforce and Supply Chain Policy at the Clean Energy Council, representing the Australian clean energy sector on the NSW Renewable Energy Sector Board and the Victorian Skills Authority. She previously served as Director of the University of Melbourne’s Climate and Energy College and Research Coordinator for the Australian-German Energy Transition Hub. Earlier in her career, she was Senior Researcher for Climate and Energy at the Australian Parliamentary Library during the passage (and repeal) of Australia’s carbon price legislation. Anita is also an independent board director of Powering Skills Organisation, Australia’s Energy Jobs and Skills Council. She holds an Engineering degree and a Masters of Climate Change from the Australian National University, and a PhD in Climate Engineering Governance from the University of Melbourne.
In leading the Decarbonisation Futures work area, Anita drives Climate Resource's work on:
- Global sectoral transition pathways, and sub-sectoral and country-level pathways for major emitters, consistent with limiting warming to thresholds such as 1.5°C.
- Declining demand for coal and gas under global action to limit warming, and the implications for fossil fuel exporters such as Australia.
