It is always a pleasure to support this important annual publication. The report finds that, if country targets are met in full, the best estimate of projected warming in 2100 is 1.8-1.9°C (50th and 66th percentile). It projects warming of 2.6-2.8°C this century, if trends under current policies continue - well above the Paris Agreement's 1.5-2°C goal. It emphasises that faster, larger cuts in greenhouse gas emissions are essential to reduce climate risk and keep a pathway toward 1.5°C by 2100 viable.
