Climate Resource supported the IEA to assess the average global surface temperature rise that would result from greenhouse gas and aerosol emissions in the WEO 2021 scenarios. The WEO 2021, released on 13 October by the IEA, shows the new energy economy is emerging around the world as solar, wind, electric vehicles and other low-carbon technologies flourish. But as COP26 approaches, the IEA’s analysis makes it clear that progress is still too slow to put global emissions on the path towards net zero by 2050, highlighting the need for stronger ambition and action. We are delighted to be involved in contributing to this landmark IEA report.
