The IEA's 2023 Update to its landmark Net Zero Emissions by 2050 published in 2021 sets out an updated pathway to net zero by 2050, in the context of a complex and dynamic landscale. It takes into account the global energy crisis triggered by Russia's invasion of the Ukraine, and the progress in developing and deploying key clean energy technologies.
Climate Resource worked with the IEA to assess the global mean temperature rise associated with this emissions pathway - which is a 1.5C 'with limited overshoot' scenario.
